Recommended Outfits
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November): Because it gets cold in the mornings and at night, outerwear is necessary. In Okunikko, as temperatures sometimes remain low even during the day, and wearing wear or carrying a thick jacket is recommended.
Summer (June to August): When visiting Okunikko, outerwear may be necessary. Otherwise, dress for warm to hot weather.
Winter (December to February): Because it gets extremely cold in winter, an overcoat is necessary. Wear shoes with grippy soles to avoid slipping on snow and ice.
Note that temperatures may differ by 5 degrees Celsius or more between central Nikko and other areas. Take special care in winter as a mild day near Nikko Station could be significantly colder outside of downtown.

There is an automatic currency exchange machine as below

Credit Cards
Most accommodation facilities accept credit cards, but the number of restaurants and souvenir shops that accept credit cards is limited.
ATMs
Visitors from overseas countries can withdraw Japanese yen from specially-marked ATMs at banks, post offices and 7-Eleven convenience stores.
Luggage Services
Coin lockers are available for temporary baggage storage. Place your luggage in an empty coin locker with a key attached, and insert 100-yen coins to pay the designated fee. Close the door, and turn the key to lock. Coin-operated lockers are generally 20 to 40 centimeters wide and 57 centimeters deep. Most of them charge from 400 yen per day. Use of larger lockers is more expensive.

Luggage Dispatch Services
Courier services at Tobu-Nikko Station and the Kinugawa-Kawaji Onsen Tourist Information Center can deliver your luggage to your accommodation in the area for a small fee.
Tobu-Nikko Station
Luggage heading to Kinugawa and Kawaji Onsen will be accepted until 12:30 p.m. and delivered by 5:00 p.m. on the same day. Luggage heading to the World Heritage areas, Lake Chuzenji, and Yumoto Onsen will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. and delivered by 5:00 p.m. on the same day. Depending on the season, the acceptance deadline may be earlier. Delivery may also take place late at night.

Kinugawa-Kawaji Onsen Tourist Information Center
Luggage heading to facilities affiliated with the Kinugawa/Kawaji Onsen Ryokan Cooperative will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. and delivered by 5:00 p.m. on the same day.
Fee: 1000 yen per bag
