The venue of the marathon, Nikko Suginamiki Kaido, was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest tree-lined road in 1991. There are approximately 12,350 cedar trees along the 37-kilometer road.
*Nikko Suginamiki Marathon has been cancelled in 2021.
