Backcountry Cross-country Skiing

バックカントリークロスカントリースキー

Nikko's backcountry is one of the few places in Honshu ilands where you can enjoy pristine powder snow and tranquil cross-country skiing trails. As your guide leads you through the deep, snow-covered forest, keep an eye out for footprints of wild animals like deer, rabbits, squirrels, and foxes. With a bit of luck, you might even catch a glimpse of one of these elusive creatures. Take a moment to pause, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and soak in the soothing sounds of nature. This backcountry skiing adventure, you will use skis that are slightly wider than usual and designed to support walking as well. The boots are lightweight, flexible, and offer excellent ankle support. Your guide will help you quickly get the hang of using the skis. The tour lasts approximately 2,5 hours and takes place on mostly flat terrain, making it suitable for both beginners and seasoned skiers.
